It’s always a good idea to make sure we’re on the same page before collaborating. We should enjoy our work together, so I like to keep the process easy and friendly:
Step 1: Conversation
We’ll set up a time to talk by phone/Skype so I can learn about your brand goals. I’ll take some notes and invite you to ask questions about my process. If you’re in Amsterdam, we could meet in person, at your office or at a café.
Step 2: Agreement
I’ll reflect on our discussion and consider the best project approach. Depending on the nature of our work, I take up some initial research to identify challenges or possibilities we’d want to take into account. Then I’ll send you a proposal specifying deliverables, timelines, and project fees. Once you OK the terms, we’ll evolve the proposal into a signed agreement. I require a 50% down payment to begin any work, with the final balance due upon completion.
Step 3: Production
I dig into my research more. If I need any additional info about your brand goals, I’ll request a brief follow-up. I produce the work we’ve agreed to in Step 2, then I send it to you for feedback and/or final approval. Once you give your final OK, I’ll invoice you for any outstanding balance. I’ll check in with you 2–3 weeks after we complete the work, to say hello and make sure you’re still happy with the results.
I quote on a flat-rate, per-project basis—that’s the most transparent way to serve your unique goals. Need a ballpark figure for your budget? Sure thing: see my rate sheet for general guidelines.
